Al Hayba, remixed into a microseries
Adel dies in Canada. His widow Alia and their son Joe bring his body home to Al-Hayba, the Lebanese mountain village of the clan he had broken away from, led by his brother Jabal. On the way the funeral convoy is held at a police checkpoint, while Jabal punishes an informant in the woods. At the village the officers demand to open the coffin, and the clan faces them down and carries it in on foot.
Every one of these is a dial. Different IP, different setting.
- Length
- About 2 minutes each, 11 episodes from 35 minutes. Could run 60–90 seconds for feed-native, or 3–4 minutes for fewer, denser episodes.
- Boundaries
- Each episode ends on a turn (the checkpoint, the coffin, the woods), never on a timecode.
- Serial
- Each episode assumes you watched the last. Standalone cuts are a different pass.
- Reframe
- 9:16 from the 16:9 master. The crop follows the faces, so a two-shot stays a two-shot.
- Sound
- Original score removed and rescored, dialogue untouched, Arabic captions burned in. Subtitled in your languages, it plays in any market.
